14 Nov How To Help This Holiday Season
Because of COVID-19, holidays at the House and Family Room will look a bit different this year. Even though we can’t have anyone come in and volunteer, there are still so many ways you can help families with sick kids. Here are just a few:
Provide a home away from home for families by supporting our Year End Fundraiser.
Sponsor meals for families to ensure they’re well-fed throughout their long days. Click here to sign up and provide a meal at the Ronald McDonald House in Boise. Click here to sign up and provide a meal at the Family Room in Idaho Falls.
Snack bags – decorate and fill with individually wrapped and store-bought food items (please no stickers on bags)
Goody Bags – Make and decorate goody bags to be given to each family staying at the House the week of Thanksgiving or Christmas. Here are some ideas of what you could include:
- Thanksgiving: small decorations, turkey craft kit, candy, lotion, fall-themed decorations (please no glue or glitter)
- Christmas: small decorations, candy canes, small ornament, stretch mittens, lip balm, craft kit (please no glue or glitter)
Mini Christmas Trees – Purchase and decorate a mini tree with your family, friends, or co-workers with lights and ornaments. A tree will be provided to each family staying at the House during the month of December. Families will be able to keep the tree in their room and then take it home with them.
Holiday Greeting Cards – Make homemade Holiday cards, include envelopes. A package of six will be provided to each family that checks in during the month of December so they can send out cards to their family and friends. Please only non-denominational decorations and verbiage.
Sew face masks
