07 Apr Esplin Family
We are the Esplin family from Eastern Oregon. Last spring I was put on bed rest for a month before giving birth to our nearly 12 weeks early little girl. We were new parents and had no idea what to expect. The last thing we thought about was how we were going to be able to travel back and forth while our little girl was in the NICU.
The St. Luke’s staff in Boise worked with the Ronald McDonald House in Boise, Idaho to accommodate us while our daughter was in the NICU. During this time, the COVID-19 pandemic was in the early stages and we were the last family that the Ronald McDonald House accepted before quarantine and shutdowns took place. As families left, it was very strange being in the RMH, at one point, with only one other family.
We are ever so grateful for the donors, staff, local restaurants, and all those who provide services, donated goods, and time to the Ronald McDonald House. Words cannot convey how grateful our family is for the kindness that the Ronald McDonald House staff and donors showed to us. It made a very stressful time less stressful, as we were able to stay close to our little one. From the bottom of our hearts, we are eternally grateful, so very thankful.
