1974 First Ronald McDonald House opens in Philadelphia
1986 Children’s Family Center of Idaho, the founding organization of the Idaho Ronald McDonald House (RMH) was incorporated.
Feb 1, 1988, the Idaho Ronald McDonald House opened with 4 guest rooms, the 106th Ronald McDonald House to open.
1991 the first year of an instrumental golf tournament that would eventually become the J.R. Simplot Memorial Golf Tournament, providing a significant portion of the annual operating revenue for the RMH.
1992 The Volunteer Christmas Bazaar was started, bringing together a large group of volunteers to raise funds for the RMH.
1993 Idaho Ronald McDonald House expands to 12 rooms to meet the growing demand for service.
1997 Volunteer led Pull Tab program was formed, collecting aluminum can tab tops to recycle on a per pound basis and raise money for house needs.
1998 The Idaho Ronald McDonald House celebrates 10 years of providing a home away from home for families of ill and injured children.
2001 An annual yard sale held by volunteers was started on the front lawn of the RMH.
2002 Once again demand necessitated growth of the Idaho Ronald McDonald House to meet the need for medically related housing in Boise. Seven bedrooms, a second kitchen and laundry room were added, allowing the House to accommodate up to 19 families each night.
2004 With the recent expansion, a secondary fundraiser was needed to help support operations. Partnering with Kids & Clays, the RMH Sporting Clays Tournament was started. Western States CAT signed on as the title sponsor in 2005.
2008 The 20th Anniversary was celebrated with an Extreme Cake Decorating Competition for the community and a family reunion picnic.
2011 The Ronald McDonald House provides over 8,000 nights of temporary lodging.
2013 The House celebrates its 25th Anniversary by having a party with key stakeholders and a cool silent auction featuring 25 items.
2014 The Food Box Program officially began and provides families an opportunity to take a box of food home with them after a long day at the hospital.
2017 The Happy Wheels Cart makes its debut serving families at Saint Alphonsus and the St. Lukes Children Hospital with food, beverages, fun activities and toys.
