My 17-year-old daughter, Journie, was involved in a motor vehicle accident on April 9, 2023, where she suffered a complete spinal cord injury. We are thankful and blessed that she is still able to be here with us 💗. Journie was transported by air from Nevada to St. Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho where she underwent surgery and immediate care. Nine days later she was stable enough that she was able to be transferred to St. Luke’s Rehabilitation. During her stay at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation, she learned life skills with her current condition. Between transfers from hospitals, staff recommended the Ronald McDonald House for us to stay. We applied and were accepted to stay while Journie was in rehabilitation.
The RMHC of Idaho staff are friendly, supportive, and were available from the first day we arrived and continues to be as we stay from time to time. The gifts that are donated and given to families during their stay make you feel loved and appreciated while going through difficult times. The House is organized and clean, with a home away from home feeling. We have a large family who are very supportive of one another and RMHC of Idaho was very inviting while my family stayed at the House. Thank you, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho donors, volunteers, and staff, for all that you do, we appreciate your hospitality!
