The very first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia in 1974. Since then, over 365 Houses and other programs have been opened around the world in more than 43 countries and regions, all with a common mission of providing a welcoming, comfortable environment for families during a very difficult time in their lives. The Idaho Ronald McDonald House opened on February 1, 1988 with 4 bedrooms and was the smallest Ronald McDonald House in the world. Over 30 years and two expansions later, the 14,000 square foot facility can accommodate 17 families each night.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho raises all funds for operating the Idaho Ronald McDonald House locally, through donations and signature fundraising events.
