In 2017, we turned away 41 families.
In 2018, that number doubled.
That’s not okay. We need your help to make room for every family.
Making Room for Every Family
Over the last several years, demand for RMHC of Idaho’s support has increasingly exceeded its capacity, which means more and more families who hope to stay at the House are turned away because it’s full. If our capacity remains the same, by 2025, there will be 1 room at the House for every 3 families who need one each night.
That’s why we’re building a new Ronald McDonald House. Designed by Cole Architects and built by Engineered Structures, Inc. (ESI), the expanded House will be 40,000 square feet dedicated to helping more than three times the number of families we currently serve. Projected to open January 2020, the 47-guest room facility at 139 E. Warm Springs Avenue will remain just steps from St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital and a short drive to Saint Alphonsus.
Expanding our capacity means meeting every need and not turning away families because every room is full.

• 47 Guest Rooms will help more families stay together. By staying close to their child’s medical care, parents can better communicate with the medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans.
• Private Day Rooms will provide any families with ill or injured children a home base while receiving outpatient care. Parents can eat, shower and relax at the House during a full day of appointments.
• A Larger Kitchen, Pantry and Dining Room will take the pressure of shopping, cooking and cleaning off families so they can focus on their child.
Help Us Make Room for Every Family
In order to make this new House a reality, our goal is to raise a total of $15.3 million. Thanks to generous donors, we’ve raised about $9.8 million so far. We still have around $5.5 million left to raise in order to make room for every family, which means we need your help. By making a donation or pledge today, you will be joining a community of donors committed to ensuring that RMHC of Idaho is always there to answer the call of families in crisis who come to our door.
