COVID-19 Update: Opening Our Doors
To our RMHC Family,
These past couple of months have brought a lot of uncertainty and change into all our lives. Through it all, our wonderful community has been there to help us weather the storm. To get through it together, so we can continue keeping families close to their sick children. For that, we are so thankful.
We’re excited to be moving forward. Together, with many stakeholders and medical partners, we’ve put together a multi-step reopening plan for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at EIRMC, and an extensive phased plan for accepting new families at the Idaho Ronald McDonald House. Yesterday, we officially started implementing these plans by opening our doors to new families at both programs. We’ll be taking it slowly and are prepared to make adjustments as needed along the way.
Due to the vulnerability of our families and their sick kids, many of our processes look different. Staff and families are being asked to adhere to specific health and safety protocols. The well-being of our guest families is of utmost importance today, and every day.
Currently, volunteer opportunities are still suspended through the end of May. While we miss all of our amazing volunteers more than you can know, it’s the safest path at this point. Over the coming weeks, we will continue looking to our community to keep supporting families in many ways, including meals and supplies.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or just to let us know how you’re doing. We look forward to the day when we can welcome everyone back into our programs and be together making a difference. Until then, know we are here, grateful for you, and focused on keeping families close.
