6 Ways to Volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho
Coming to the House and preparing breakfast, lunch, or dinner helps the families staying with us tremendously. Being able to enjoy a home cooked meal between hospital visits or after a long day can relieve a family so they are able to focus on their child’s healing.
Families staying with us, especially the kids, always enjoy having baked treats in the kitchen. Volunteers are able to come in and bake snacks or treats of their choice.
Whether it is during the winter and snow needs to be shoveled or fall and the leaves need to be raked, yard work done by volunteers is always appreciated.
We want to make sure the House is clean and organized at all times for the families staying with us. Although we have a part time housekeeper, having volunteers help clean, sanitize, and organize the House is always welcomed.
Each year we have a few annual events that we host to help raise money for the House. Our two biggest are the Western States CAT – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho Sporting Clays Tournament and the J.R. Simplot Memorial Golf Tournament. Both events require numerous volunteers to help with various responsibilities.
We have a handful of regular volunteers that come in and work the front desk. They help guests check in and out, check in volunteers, answer phones, and help with other miscellaneous duties. Volunteers have the opportunity to be a sub in for the front desk as well as be apart of the regular team of volunteers.
We love all of our volunteers here at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho and appreciate all the time and effort they put into making this House such an amazing place. Thank you volunteers!
